I began painting indoors due to a stretch of rainy weather, which prevented me from going outdoors for my usual landscapes. I started experimenting with still life and semi-abstract ideas based on wineglasses. Then, in September 2011, I had a paragliding accident, causing soft-tissue damage to the ankles, knees and lower abdomen, 2 broken ribs, 4 broken vertebrae and damage to the spinal nerves. After a month in hospital, I faced several months of rehabilitation learning to walk again, so I have continued with this studio series until I can get out and about once more.
